klinikfarma.com Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, conducted a review of mass transportation services in the city of Palembang, South Sumatra, with the aim of maximizing the use of LRT (Light Rail Transit) feeder transportation. This effort aims to provide better and wider services to the community, especially in areas that were previously unserved.
Feeder Transport Rerouting
The Minister of Transportation announced a plan to reroute LRT feeder transportation. This aims to expand the reach of feeder transportation to three previously unserved areas, namely Plaju, Sekip, and Bumi Sriwijaya. This decision is based on the high population concentration in the three areas.
The Minister of Transportation explained that the feeder transportation route will continue to improve its service. Currently, feeder transportation has a relatively long route, so it requires a long travel time. By rearranging the route, feeder transportation will be more efficient in serving passengers. Some ineffective routes can also be eliminated.
Encouraging the Use of Mass Public Transportation
Budi Karya Sumadi hopes that with better mass public transportation services, the people of Palembang will use more of this public transportation as an alternative to private vehicles. Palembang already has a number of mass public transportation options, and this service improvement aims to encourage more people to abandon their private vehicles.
Acting Governor of South Sumatra, Agus Fatoni, also expressed appreciation for the efforts of the central and regional governments in developing public transportation. He hopes that these efforts will facilitate community activities and improve the economy in South Sumatra. The Governor also invited the people of South Sumatra to use public transportation as a means of daily transportation.
“We must unite in realizing a better public transportation system, supported by the central government. We must prioritize the use of public transportation that has been built,” said the Acting Governor of South Sumatra.
