Videos posted on social media show a partially submerged Russian Navy ship being towed in the waters around the naval base that was the target of the attack.
The Black Sea port of Novorossiysk also hosts a pipeline terminal that carries most of Kazakhstan’s oil exports through Russia.
Friday’s drone strike prompted the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, the operator of the terminal, to impose a “temporary ban” on vessel traffic in the area.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense reported that 10 drones were shot down by air defenses over the Crimea, and three more were disabled by electronic warfare.
Russia’s Black Sea Fleet and annexed Crimea have come under repeated attack since Moscow launched its invasion of Ukraine more than a year ago, but the attacks have intensified in recent weeks.
