Jakarta, Klinik Farma – PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR), operator of the Rokan block in Riau, is currently the largest oil producer in Indonesia. It follows that oil production at the Rokan block is currently at 172,000 barrels per day, which is the highest among other oil blocks in the country.
PHR Chief Executive Chalid Saeed Salim explained that the highest production achievement at the Rokan Block has been achieved since the transfer of control from Chevron to PHR. He said that this crowning achievement is inseparable from the role of PHR workers and stakeholder support.
“Currently, PHR production is the highest in Indonesia. Number one,” Chalid told Klinik Farma Energy Corner on Tuesday (August 15, 2023).
In addition, Chalid explained that the drilling of production wells has played a dominant role in improving productivity.
While PHR manages the Rokan block, it has been recorded that about 800 wells have been drilled using 80 drilling and workover rigs.
Thus, given the achievements that have been made to date, this is a challenge for the company. First of all, in measures to maintain the level of oil and gas production.
“We will carry out other activities not only to maintain, of course, we want to further increase oil production in Indonesia,” he said.
It should be noted that based on the data of the Special Task Force on Oil and Gas Exploration and Production (SCC Migas), the oil production of the Republic of Ingushetia in the first half of 2023 was recorded at an average of 615.5 thousand barrels per day (bpd).
