“As for the notion that this is an environmental crime, I don’t think that is true,” Budi said at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta on Wednesday (August 16, 2023).
He believed that the existence of this program was the solution to the realization of food sovereignty in Indonesia. In addition, the program must also respond to upcoming challenges.

“We need initiatives, ideas to solve problems. One solution is a food complex or food storage,” he continued.
As for the land being prepared for the food farming program, he said, it was land that had already been surveyed by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.
“In response, there may be parties who claim that there has been extraordinary environmental damage, prepared land in Central Kalimantan of about 6,000 hectares was previously a productive forest, HPH, which has not been used for a long time,” he said.
“So Pak Prabowo’s idea was to create a food storage for strategic stocks, in this case cassava, which is very important for land preparation,” he added.
