Jakarta, Klinik Farma – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has allocated IDR 108.8 trillion to support national food security for the implementation of the state budget for 2024. One of the measures that will be encouraged is to increase the availability and quality of food.
“Economic Transformation Strategy for Food Security has been allocated IDR 108.8 trillion, which is a priority: improving food availability, access and stabilizing food prices, increasing domestic food production, strengthening farming institutions, and supporting financing and protection agricultural enterprises,” Jokowi said in a statement as he read the government’s statement on the 2024 Budget Law and Financial Documents at the Nusantara Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta on Wednesday (August 16, 2023).
One of the activities of Jokowi in the field of food security is the development of infrastructure. Another project launched by Jokowi is the Food Estate, which is currently in the spotlight.

Previously, PDIP General Secretary (General Secretary) Hasto Cristianto accused the Food Estate project of only having an impact on deforestation, which does nothing.
“In practice, this policy seems to have been misused, and then the forests were cut down, and the food economy was not developed properly. This is part of a crime against the environment,” Hasto said in Bogor on Tuesday (August 15).
Hasto made the announcement in response to an alleged flow of funds from environmental crimes to political parties. He turned to the Center for Reporting and Analysis of Financial Transactions (CPATC) with a request to investigate the case.
“Therefore, we urge PPATK to report this, in addition, it is related to the environment. Mrs. Mega is very concerned,” he said.
The Food Estate project has been initiated by President Jokowi since the start of his second term. The project is overseen by Minister of Agriculture Sakhrul Yasin Limpo and Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto and is included in the Strategic Priority Project with reference to Presidential Decree No. 108 of 2022.
