“The appearance of old school students inspired the clothing theme of Mr. Eric Tohir and Mrs. Lisa Tohir at the 78th Indonesian Independence Ceremony at the State Palace,” Didier said via his account @didietmaulana, quoted Friday (August 18, 2023).

The idea for the outfit came from Eric. The clothes he wore were actually inspired by the first organization of the Boedi Oetomo movement.

Didier explained that he realized Eric’s idea in a classic cream suit, white shirt and bow tie. A blangcon and closed slippers complete the design created by Didier.

Meanwhile, for Eric’s wife, Didier opted for a Kartini kebaya design with puffed sleeves and high cuffs, which were the trend of the time.

“They both wore batik motifs with a clitic machete,” he said.
