Klinik Farma – The Commission for the Eradication of Corruption (CPC) has discovered a new case of corruption in the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas). This time it was due to the purchase in 2014 of personnel transport trucks and rescue vehicles (RCVs). An investigation has also been launched into this alleged case.

“The CCP has launched a new investigation into allegations of corruption that resulted in financial losses to the state in Basarnas in 2012-2018 through the acquisition of personnel transport trucks and rescue vehicles in 2014,” the report said. Ali Fikri, head of the CCP reporting department, said on Thursday (10/08/2023).

Since this is a new case, the CCP has released little information about the alleged corruption case. Ali simply said that there are already suspects and for sure they will cause damage to the state up to billions of rupees. Here are the facts.

It is alleged that the case of alleged corruption in the procurement of transport trucks is not related to the special operation (OTT) in Basarnas, which was previously carried out by the CCP. This is due to the fact that the previous ones led to cases of bribery in the procurement of goods and services.

“That’s different. This is the purchase of goods and services. OTT is a bribe for the purchase of goods and services.” Ali Fikri, head of the CCP reporting department, explained to reporters at the CCP building in South Jakarta on Thursday (October 8, 2023).

In addition, Ali said that the corruption case in the procurement of trucks to transport personnel in Basarnas is suspected of causing damage to the state. This is different from OTT in Basarnas, which named Basarnas Marsdya TNI head Henri Alfiandi as a suspect.

There are three suspects

The CCP is known to have named three alleged suspects in an alleged corruption case in the procurement of trucks to transport troops in Basarnas in 2014. It is also known that these three people have not been allowed to travel abroad since mid-June 2023.

The three suspects are the former chief secretary of Basarnas (Sestama) Max Ruland Boseke, the head of Basarnas Anjar Sulistijono and the director of CV Delima Mandiri William Vidarta. They are banned from traveling abroad until December 2023.

“There are 3 people on the prevention list, the prevention period is from June 17, 2023 to December 17, 2023. Proposed by the CCP”, This is stated in the official statement of the General Directorate of Immigration of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights on Friday (November 8, 2023).

Prevention is done to facilitate the investigation process. Meanwhile, the CCP itself has yet to officially name the suspects in the case of corruption in the purchase of trucks in Basarnas. They say they still need time to reveal it.

Make the state lose tens of billions

Allegations of corruption in the procurement of troop trucks and rescue vehicles have reportedly cost the state tens of billions of dollars in losses. However, the CCP has not disclosed the exact cost as the case is still being investigated.

“About tens of billions (of losses incurred by the state).” Ali said.
